Growing up in Texas, Wayne Smith faced his first career decision early on. Should he play first base for the New York Yankees? Become a heroic military leader? Write the Great American Novel?
He never made the Yankees. Instead, he became a US Air Force pilot and flew strategic airlift missions worldwide, including Cold Banner operations in direct support of the President of the United States. Then he earned a doctorate in psychology and worked with Fortune 100 executives to develop their leadership skills. Writing about work was more fun than actually doing it, so he published numerous articles in academic and professional journals.
Finally, he realized that writing fiction was most fun of all. Today he writes stories he would like to see on Turner Classic Movies. Smith lives in Colorado. He enjoys photography, hiking and fly fishing. In the winter, he also shovels snow, but he doesn’t enjoy that as much.
