It's the first year of the Great Depression. Cub reporter Mariel Cleary desperately needs a scoop. But when she gets on the trail of a Black Dragon assassin, she finds more than a news story. She stumbles into a struggle between mighty Asian empires – a conflict that threatens to drag America into a deadly war it doesn’t want and is ill prepared to fight.
